Grades K-3
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”
~Matthew 7:24
NURTURING A STRONG FOUNDATION
The East Richland Christian Schools’ Lower Elementary Staff members are uniquely called to provide the stable, consistent structure for the critical early years of learning. Each staff member possesses a strong sense of responsibility to instill a love of learning at an early age.
Students in our lower elementary school are not only taught to read, write, and spell, but they are also challenged in areas such as math, science, and computers. Through hands-on learning experiences and integrated technology, our students are challenged each day to think critically and independently. As they learn about and explore the amazing world God created, a foundation of wisdom and strength begins to form.
CHRIST-CENTERED INSTRUCTION
At East Richland Christian, we believe that all truth is God’s truth; therefore, all academically-sound teaching includes biblical integration. This is critical at every grade level, but especially integral at the primary grade levels. It is not enough to have Wednesday chapels and Sunday School, but every day, our staff takes seriously the call to apply God’s Word and His truth to every area of our children’s lives and instruction.
In our lower elementary grades, academic emphasis is placed on:
- infusing ALL subjects and lessons with the Truth of God’s Word
- utilizing phonics for Reading instruction
- understanding number concepts and facts in Mathematics
- exploring God’s creation in Science
- developing a sense of time; past and present in Social Studies
These vibrantly decorated, active, self-contained classrooms are exciting places for these young learners to develop interest and confidence in learning. Multiple learning methods are employed to meet the learning needs of the various kinds of learners we are blessed to teach.
OTHER LEARNING
